What a return to racing from our Group 1 hero Mr Quickie. Here are just some of the stats after his luckless third in the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington last Saturday:

  • Highest Peak Speed of 69.2km
  • Fastest sectionals for every split from the 1400m.
  • Last 600m – 32.34secs.
  • Last 400m – 21.78…………simply airborne, that is MR QUICKIE!

MR QUICKIE (3rd) ran the quickest last 600m, 400m and 200m sectionals of the entire meeting in 32.34s, 21.78 and 10.86 respectively. Trainer Phillip Stokes explained “I thought before the race if we can finish top five, we’re flying”. The QLD Derby winner will likely progress to the Turnbull Stakes next with the Caulfield Cup the main goal, for which he’s been allocated 53kg and currently sits 26th in the order of entry.Sit back and watch the run of the day at Flemington Racecourse and Victoria Racing Club yesterday and your new Melbourne Racing Club Caulfield Cup Favourite.
