Alaa Plenty produced another determined performance to score a well-earned victory at Morphettville on Monday, taking out Race 2 – the Kirin Ichiban Handicap.
Jumping well and settling nicely just behind the early speed, Alaa Plenty travelled comfortably throughout the run as the field worked down the side. Turning for home the race began to open up, and once balanced in the straight he responded strongly when asked.
Under a confident and well-judged ride from Emily Pozman, Alaa Plenty kicked clear in the straight and showed great determination over the closing stages, holding off the late challengers to secure the win.
Prepared by the outstanding Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman team, the son of Shalaa out of Miss Adequate continues to reward the patience and placement of the Moody Racing stable. With each run he is showing greater maturity and competitiveness, and performances like this suggest there is plenty more to come.
