There was no catching Devil’s Delight in Race 3 at Darwin, as the powerful sprinter jumped straight to the lead and produced a faultless front-running display to record another well-deserved victory for the Clarke–Dalziel team!
Under a confident ride from Adam Nicholls, Devil’s Delight flew the gates and immediately took control of the race. By the 800m mark he was cruising along a length clear, dictating terms with Pharaoh Magic in pursuit and the rest of the field struggling to keep touch. As they turned for home, Nicholls asked for more and the gelding responded with a strong kick, stretching the margin and showing great determination over the final 200 metres to hold off all challengers.
Despite drifting slightly off the rail late, Devil’s Delight dug deep and fought hard to the line, finishing a length and a half in front after a tough drive from Nicholls. It was a true display of grit and speed, confirming his liking for the Darwin track and his growing consistency this campaign.
A big well done to trainer Gary Clarke, jockey Adam Nicholls, and the whole Clarke Racing team for another outstanding Top End win. Congratulations to our thrilled group of owners who continue to enjoy a fantastic run of success with this talented horse.
