Military Base Breaks Through at Yarra Valley!

Military Base delivered a well-earned and encouraging maiden victory yesterday at Yarra Valley, taking out Race 4, the Yarra Valley Toyota Maiden Plate, with a strong and professional performance.

Settling into a comfortable rhythm early, Military Base showed plenty of composure before being brought into the race at the right time by Luke Cartwright. When asked for the effort, the response was immediate, with the gelding extending nicely through the line to score convincingly and put his name on the winners’ list.

This was a pleasing result for connections and a great reward for the patience shown with Military Base. The improvement he’s been showing at home translated perfectly to race day, and this win looks a solid platform to build on moving forward.

A big thank you to Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman, whose early guidance and belief in Military Base helped shape his development before the decision was made to continue his racing journey in Victoria. Credit also goes to the entire team involved in his preparation — it’s always satisfying to see the work behind the scenes pay off.

With that maiden now out of the way, there’s plenty to like about what lies ahead for Military Base as he steps through the grades.
