A peach of a ride from Jamie Mott thrust Sheza Sniper to an overdue second career win after three seconds from her previous four starts.

The now five-year-old mare celebrated her – and all horses – birthday with a narrow win in the final event on the program at her home track of Pakenham where she’s trained by Phillip Stokes.

A $50,000 purchase at the Adelaide Magic Millions, selected by Stokes and Wylie Dalziel Bloodstock, the daughter of Shooting To Win has had to overcome a shortage of luck and time off with an injury during her career, but still managed to return her owners more in prizemoney than her initial purchase price.

Sheza Sniper is now in the paddock enjoying a well-earned break.
