Supernima capped off a terrific day at Flemington with a strong and determined victory in Race 9, the Thank You Volunteers Trophy, on Saturday.
Settling beautifully under Michael Dee, Supernima travelled sweetly through the early stages, always comfortable and in a position to build when the pressure came on. As the field tightened approaching the home turn, he responded exactly as hoped, holding his line and setting himself for a final effort.
Once balanced in the straight, Supernima showed his quality. Asked to extend, he knuckled down strongly, lengthening through his gears and asserting himself late to score a well-earned win at headquarters. It was a confident, well-judged ride that allowed the horse to finish with authority.
Prepared by Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman, Supernima continues to reward the patience and care of the team at Moody Racing. Still developing and learning his craft, this performance suggested there is plenty more upside as he continues to mature and progress through the grades.
Congratulations to his owners on a wonderful result, and a big thank you to the trainers, jockey, and stable staff who make days like this possible. Wins at Flemington are always special, and Supernima delivered one to remember.
