Dalziel Racing’s foray into Northern Territory racing is proving an increasingly successful one with two more recent arrivals making a mark in Darwin.
Transferred from Peter Moody’s Packenham yard to Gary Clarke in Darwin, the Territory’s leading trainer had an immediate result with Truly Brazen and Brave Fling, winning and running a gallant second in their respective top end debuts.
Truly Brazen, away only fairly from the barriers, managed to slot into a reasonable position in the small field and work home in terrific fashion for Jarrod Todd, to break his maiden at start number three.
A win for Brave Fling appears just around the corner when he pushes out beyond the 1100m he contested on Saturday.
With a hot pace on, the gelding was chasing from the outset but found his rhythm late missing the win by under half a length working well through the line.
Both horses were Gold Magic Millions purchases, selected by Wylie Dalziel and Peter Moody.
