Red Hot Nicc has headed to the paddock a winner after continuing his love affair with the tight-turning Moonee Valley track.

After running third behind the talented D’Jumbuck and subsequent winner, Sessions Road, last start, the gelded son of Nicconi returned to the winner’s stall for the third time in four starts on Sunday afternoon.

Carrying the top weight of 60kg, the Phillip Stokes four-year-old was too good for his rivals in the Summer Sprint Series final, justifying his short-priced favouritism and, in turn, taking his prize money to almost $300,000 from 19 starts, triple his initial purchase price of $100,0000 by Dalziel Racing.

Red Hot Nicc, in red hot form, will have a well-earned spell and be set for the spring after a preparation which has consisted of eight starts for three wins, two further placings and many good times for a great group of owners.
