So you’ve decided you want to share in the fun of owning a racehorse. Great! It’s an easy process.

First, have a chat to Wylie who will explain in the ins and outs of racehorse ownership – how it works, what it costs and what you can expect. You can reach him on 0418 362 574.

Then, it’s a case of having as little or as big a share in a horse with the Dalziel Racing team – it is up to you. Potential owners can have a big percentage of the ownership as an individual owner, or those who want a much smaller share can join similar minded owners and be combined in a larger syndicate.

In most cases your name appears in the list of owners in the race book. Race day tickets are also provided so you are trackside to watch your horse race in a social setting. You’ll meet other owners and be invited to team events.

The beauty about horse syndication is that the ownership split caters for everyone – big and small – to suit your budget. Once you decide the size of the ownership, based on what you want to spend, Wylie will talk you through the horses he is syndicating and what best suits your vision.

Your financial commitment will be outlined, as well as the on-going costs so there are no surprises.

Some owners have a preference for a filly, while others want to race a gelding or a colt (not that there is any guarantee he will stay intact).

Owners also have a say, from the list of our trainers, who will train the horse.
