Master trainers Peter Moody and Phillip Stokes have joined Wylie Dalziel on the Gold Coast as the excitement builds for the first yearling sale of 2021.
The trio (you can see them on the video below) have an outstanding strike rate of purchases to winners and have continually proven that they can source horses at affordable prices, especially at this famed sale.
They have inspected all the yearlings on offer at the Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale which starts on Tuesday, January 12.
It would be difficult to find a better team which includes two of the best trainers in Australia who are also renowned for not just being top trainers, but also outstanding horsemen.
Both have first class training facilities at the Pakenham Racing Club at Tynong.
Stokes, who also operates an Adelaide stable, has the best winning strike rate of any Victorian trainer at 22.5 per cent and is third on the national ladder of any trainer in Australia at 22 per cent.
Moody is back in business and hasn’t missed a beat since his resumption. He has already trained two winners for Dalziel Racing from limited starters and one of those was at metropolitan level. He is excited about being back in the training industry for us and others in the business.
Some of our successes from the Gold Coast Sale include:
CATCH A FIRE which we purchased for $40,000 and she went on to win $300,000 and was then sold for $950,000 as a broodmare.
BRING ME THE MAID was purchased by us for $110,000 and went on to win $800,000 and was later sold for $900,000 as a broodmare.
MR QUICKIE was a $115,000 purchase and the gelding is still racing has already won $1.5 million.
ANCESTRY, another gelding, was bought for $80,000 and with $430,000 in winnings, his exciting racing career continues.
