The son of Champion sire Exceed And Excel Pounding has made it back-to-back wins after winning the BM100 1600 metre race at Moonee Valley on Saturday. Pounding now winner of 6 races and $417,300 in prizemoney earnings and has really matured into a very good horse and looks destined for better races after impressively winning his way up the grades.
Pounding has been in work since July of 2022 when he was being set for Spring country cups. With a dislike for wet tracks, he had a luckless run of only being able to race on those surfaces with his jockeys saying he is going super he just doesn’t like the wet. The jockey assessments of Pounding were spot on with the galloper finally finding his way onto good surfaces and went on for a second and 2 dominant wins at his last 3 starts.
