The ever-consistent Pounding was back in the winner’s stall at Sandown recently, pushing out to the mile for the first time in his career.
Wearing the colours made famous by Group 1 winner Mr Quickie who, like Pounding, was raced in partnership between Dalziel Racing and Rosemont Stud, the gelding powered home over the top of his rivals on March 2.
Trained by Peter Moody, shares in the gelding were recommended and sold to existing stable clients by Wylie Dalziel and Rosemont director, Anthony Mithen.
Pounding has not missed a placing in his last seven career starts and appears a horse who will get out to 2000m in future preparations.
